Attending the STS Forum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u2192<a href=\"https:\/\/kiyoshikurokawa.com\/en\/jp\/2011\/10\/paris%E3%81%8B%E3%82%89%E4%BA%AC%E9%83%BD%E3%81%B8sts-forum%E5%8F%82%E5%8A%A0.html\" target=\"_self\">Japanese<\/a><\/p>\n<p>After enjoying Paris for two days in the beautiful autumn weather, I returned to Japan at Kansai airport in the morning of Monday, October 2nd, to head for Kyoto where <a href=\"https:\/\/kiyoshikurokawa.com\/en\/2009\/10\/sts-forum-scien.html\" target=\"_self\">STS Forum <\/a>(<a href=\"https:\/\/kiyoshikurokawa.com\/en\/2009\/01\/from-washingt-1.html\" target=\"_self\">Ref.1<\/a>) will be held for three days.&#160;&#160;&#160; I have been participating this Forum since the 1st meeting, and therefore have enjoyed the expansion of networks with wonderful people of the world.&#160; I am now acquainted with a number of extraordinary people.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s Forum had special sessions in the beginning dealing with energy policies, nuclear power and such because of the Fukushima disaster.&#160; I was seated next to Mr. Amano, Director General of the IAEA, at dinner, so had the privilege of talking with him in person on many topics.<\/p>\n<p>Many sessions were held simultaneously, so I chose to participate mainly in sessions on education.&#160; I also participated as one of the panelists in the session on the change in human behavior (in energy consumption, obesity, etc.) chaired by Philip Campbell, Editor-in-chief of \u201cNature&quot;.<\/p>\n<p>On 4th, I returned to Tokyo to have dinner with several political leaders.&#160; In the next morning, I had a breakfast meeting with people related to the American Hospital in Paris, and hosted in the entire afternoon a panel organized by JETRO.&#160; Here, the panelists consisted of six people who participated in the STS Forum; <a href=\"https:\/\/kiyoshikurokawa.com\/en\/2008\/01\/from-new-york-c.html\" target=\"_self\">Ellis Rubinstein<\/a>&#160;(YNAS\u3001President)\u3001<a href=\"http:\/\/twas.ictp.it\/about\/council\" target=\"_blank\">Mohammad Hassan&#160;<\/a>(TWAS,Treasurer), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rosaliaarteaga.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Risalia Arteaga&#160;<\/a>\uff08former President of Equador, female\uff09\u3001Dr Annette Lraegelou (Leibniz Institute of New Materials, female), <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ananda_Mohan_Chakrabarty\" target=\"_blank\">Ananda Chakrabarty <\/a>(Univ Illinois), and Sanwen Huang (Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences).&#160; Joined to the conference include quite a number of people from METI, NEDO, and JETRO.&#160; We all participated in a good exciting discussion.<\/p>\n<p>I always enjoy discussions with friends from all parts of the world.&#160; I learn a lot from them, too.<\/p>\n<p>&#160;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u2192Japanese After enjoying Paris for two days in the beautiful autumn weather, I returned to Japan at Kansai airport in the morning of Monday, October 2nd, to head for Kyoto where STS Forum (Ref.1) will be held for three days.&#160;&#160;&#160; I have been participating this Forum since the 1st meeting, and therefore have enjoyed the [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":"","jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":false,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","enabled":false}}},"categories":[10,13,29,31,6,23,12,27,9],"tags":[],"jetpack_publicize_connections":[],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/kiyoshikurokawa.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1376"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/kiyoshikurokawa.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/kiyoshikurokawa.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/kiyoshikurokawa.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/kiyoshikurokawa.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=1376"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/kiyoshikurokawa.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1376\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":3094,"href":"https:\/\/kiyoshikurokawa.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1376\/revisions\/3094"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/kiyoshikurokawa.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1376"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/kiyoshikurokawa.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=1376"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/kiyoshikurokawa.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=1376"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
